Jim Wagner
Senior Vice President, Marketing & Licensing
Mattel

Jim Wagner is senior vice president for Radica; the youth electronics and electronic games division of Mattel. He is responsible for overseeing the continued success of the Radica stable of products as they take advantage of the scale and resources of Mattel.

Wagner has been with Mattel for over 16 years and has held several senior management positions over that time period. Most recently, he headed up the Customer Business Team for Mattel Brands at Target. Before that, he was Account General Manager of Mattel’s largest account, Wal*Mart.

Prior to transferring to sales, Wagner was SVP of the Mattel Entertainment and Games Division. During his time there, Mattel landed the Batman, Superman and Harry Potter licenses; as well as launched the Scene-it DVD game franchise – which became the #1 board game title for 2005.

Wagner’s management background also includes driving the Hot Wheels brand on a worldwide basis. During his 7 years on the Brand, the worldwide sales more than quadrupled, as the traditional toy brand became a boys’ SuperBrand that encompassed lifestyle products as diverse as apparel, school supplies and automotive car wax for your real “Hot Wheels.”

He, along with a team of talented individuals, launched the Boys Licensing division, and ran the internet and videogame categories for Mattel.

Wagner is a graduate of the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, where he earned his MBA. His undergraduate degree is in Marketing and Business from California State University, Fullerton.

He is married, with two sons ages 7 and 11 – just the right age to enjoy Radica’s innovative electronics.
