Rain dampened the City streets and fog shrouded the venerable Tower of London just down the River Thames, but the weather did not dampen the spirit nor keep over 120 intrepid marketers from trekking to the newly minted Hilton London Tower Bridge for the second Annual CMO Council Summit Europe. From throughout the UK and across the Continent, senior marketing executives convened for "Mixing, Merging and Multiplying: Managing Euro Market Dynamics," the CMO Council's final Summit of the CMO Council season, following successful North America (San Francisco) and Asia Pacific (Tokyo) events. Closing out the year on a series of high notes, the CMO Council Europe recorded its 750th new member, the CMO Council welcomed over 350 senior marketers to its three Summits, with representatives coming from over 30 countries, and the Council closed in on 3,000 global members. read more »

The CMO Council Europe partnered with Microsoft to deliver a Masterclass session on B2B & B2C Marketing. There is a lot to share in Reading, United Kingdom, on Wednesday 2nd August. This luncheon event examined the increasingly close relationship between traditional B2B and B2C marketing approaches and looked at how success and ROI can be measured in a world that is changing so rapidly. The debate was lead by CMO Council Europe Advisory Board member Nick Barley, Business & Marketing Officer, Microsoft, and featured participation from some of the leading lights in B2B and B2C marketing.
 

Online Marketing Trends:

2nd CMO Council Networking Dinner

October 25th 2007, Munich, Germany

Is print media dead? Finding the answer to this provocative question was the central topic of the CMO Council Networking Dinner, held on October 25, 2007 in Munich. 18 high-ranking marketing executives of international and German IT companies accepted the CMO Council’s invitation and met to discuss current online marketing trends and the effect of online marketing on the traditional marketing and media scene. Companies represented at the event, supported by CIO Magazine, included Astaro AG, Avnet Electronics, BasWare, Google, HP, Matrix42, Microsoft and Sony Ericsson among others.

The evening was started by CMO Council hosts, Dr. Annegret Haffa, Managing Director of the PR and marketing agency Dr. Haffa & Partner, a member of the GlobalFluency network of agencies, and Dr. Ralf Leinemann, Managing Director of the CMO Council Germany, who welcomed the guests and special guest Horst Ellermann, CIO Magazine’s editor. Ellerman, who served as the discussion facilitator, introduced the topic by explaining how future online media will expand market share at the expense of print media. He went on to share that, in his opinion, rich media adverts such as movie clips and information directly serving corporate lead generation campaigns will gain significance. From his thought provoking insights, Ellermann kicked off a lively discussion on online marketing trends, the future of print media and a lot more.

The CMO Council Networking Dinner is a regular event held by the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Council, the peer-powered network of senior marketing and brand decision-makers. The Munich CMO Council Networking Dinner, organized by Dr. Haffa und Partner, was the perfect discussion in anticipation of the upcoming CMO Council Summit (www.cmosummit.org), held on November 27 – 28 in Berlin, where the debate over new and traditional media is sure to continue.
