November 2008

  • Aflac appointed a new CMO and SVP, Jeff Charney, who previously served under the same title at TV shopping network QVC.

  • Allen Hwang, a former marketing executive at Procter & Gamble and Pabst Brewing Company has been named Chief Marketing Officer at 1-800 CONTACTS.

  • Applebee's announced the appointment of Rebeca M. Johnson to the position of Senior Vice President, Marketing.

  • Jim Berra has been appointed to the newly created position of Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Miami-based Carnival Cruise Lines.

  • Continuing to staff up, OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network has named Meredith Momoda Vice President, Integrated Marketing. She was formerly SVP of Integrated Marketing for fellow Discovery-owned network TLC.

  • Steve Liguori has been named Executive Director of Global Marketing with Fairfield-based General Electric Co.

October 2008
  • Cooking.com hired Kieran Hannon as Chief Marketing Officer.

  • Orbitz Worldwide announced that it has named Jeffrey Davidoff as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.

  • Longtime Fox Broadcasting spokesman Scott Grogin has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications for the Fox Networks Group.

  • Winn-Dixie named Mary Kellmanson as Vice President of Marketing. Previously, Kellmanson was Vice President of Advertising and Marketing for Wegmans Food Markets.

  • Delta Air Lines announced that John E. "Ned" Walker has joined the company's senior management team as senior vice president and Chief Communications Officer.

  • Sony Pictures Entertainment announced that Eric Berger, currently Senior VP, Digital Networks, will become Chief of Marketing & Distribution for the Crackle online video network.

  • Steve Ewing was hired as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sears Canada.

  • United Airlines promoted Senior Vice President of Marketing, Dennis Cary, to Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing and Customer Officer.

  • Dominic Chambers, former head of UK brand and marketing at mobile operator Vodafone, has been appointed European marketing director at LG.

  • JDSU announced that Sharad Rastogi has been appointed as SVP of Corporate Development and Marketing.

  • Susan Kantor was promoted to Executive Vice President, Marketing, for Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution and Telepictures Productions, and will lead new, unified WBDTD marketing team for broadcast and cable.

  • Family Dollar Stores, Inc. promoted Dorlisa K. Flur to the position of Executive Vice President, Strategy and Marketing.

  • Radio Disney has a new VP of Marketing: Phil Guerini, formerly Executive Director of Broadcast & Strategic Marketing at Walt Disney Records.

  • Peter Ryan was appointed Vice President of Marketing at Bayer Animal Health.

  • Warner Bros. International Television Distribution has named Greg Drebin to the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Branded Services Programming and Marketing.

  • Willie Chiang, formerly senior vice president of commercial, succeeded Jim Gallogly as head of refining and marketing at ConocoPhillips.

  • InterContinental Hotels Group appointed Paul Snyder to VP, Development Brand Management and Marketing.

  • MLB Network announced the hiring of Mary Beck as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Promotion.

  • BBC Worldwide appointed Target Entertainment marketer Clare Vincent to the new position of Vice President, Marketing.

September 2008
  • Walgreens named Kim L. Feil to the new position of Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.

  • Leading drinks company Diageo named Andy Fennell Chief Marketing Officer and Ron Anderson Chief Customer Officer.

  • Whole Foods Market announced the promotion of its Southern Pacific Regional President, Michael Besancon, to the newly created position of Senior Global Vice President of Purchasing, Distribution and Marketing.

  • Leland A. Nichols was appointed to the newly created role of Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Smith & Wesson Holding Corp

  • Skyy Spirits, LLC created a new position of Chief Operating Officer/Chief Marketing Officer to be filled by Andrea Conzonato, who was most recently Group Marketing Director for Skyy Spirits’ parent company, Gruppo Campari in Milan.

  • Kmart has hired a new CMO: Mark Snyder, formerly of Holiday Inn. He succeeds Bill Stewart.

  • Don Hamblen will take on the role of VP-CMO at Sears, Roebuck & Co after serving two years as VP of Marketing Planning for the retailer.

  • Cynthia Ashworth has joined the Dunkin' Donuts marketing team in the newly created position of Vice President, Consumer Engagement.

  • Andrew Nocella became SVP of Marketing and Planning for U.S. Airways

  • Eloqua announced that it has named Brian Kardon as CMO.

  • Nicole Nichols, formerly SVP of Entertainment Communications at the Disney-ABC Television Group, became SVP of Communications and Strategy at OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.

  • The Disney-ABC Television Group expanded its digital media team to add Karin Timpone as SVP of Product Strategy. Timpone previously worked at Yahoo as chief marketer for Yahoo Media Group.

  • Elizabeth Ventura, formerly of Bear Stearns, was appointed SVP of marketing and communications at Standard & Poor’s.

  • Jackie Woodward was named VP of Marketing Services MillerCoors.

  • Filip Wouters was appointed VP of Marketing, Brand Equity, for Heineken.

  • Global management consulting firm Booz & Company announced that Thomas A. Stewart has been appointed Chief Marketing and Knowledge Officer (CMKO).

  • Russell J. Weiner became the new executive Vice President / Chief Marketing Officer at Domino’s. He was previously Vice President of Marketing for colas at Pepsi-Cola North America.

  • Feld Entertainment, Inc. announced that marketing and advertising executive Rob Desatnick has been named Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.

  • Insurance.com has announced that Steve Chiles has joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer.

  • Tom Alexander was named the new SVP of marketing for PBS Kids Sprout.

August 2008
  • Bravo Media promoted Ellen Stone to Senior Vice President, Marketing.

  • ESPN appointed Chris Laplaca Vice President of Corporate Communications

  • Michael Francis became Chief Marketing Officer for Target Corporation.

  • FX Networks announced Sally Daws will be Senior Vice President of Marketing

  • Tony Rogers returned to Wal-Mart as Senior Vice President of Advertising.

  • Marge Jackson, VP of Marketing and Sales, Comcast Cable New Jersey Region, has been named VP of Marketing, Comcast Cable Eastern Division.

  • The Coca-Cola Co. named Wendy Clark as its head of integrated marketing communications and capabilities, effective Sept. 15.

  • Michelle Bottomley has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer of Barclaycard US, the credit card business of Barclays PLC in the United States.

  • Dave Burwick, former CMO of Pepsi-Cola North America, will now oversee the company's new North America Beverages division.

  • Boost Mobile, a unit of Sprint, said today that Neil Lindsay has been named its vice president of marketing.

  • Richard Gerstein, will become CMO for Sears Holdings Corp.

  • E2open named Andrew Salzman CMO. Recently, he was CMO at Information Resources.

  • Reebok-CCM Hockey announced the appointment of Glen Thornborough as VP, Sports Marketing

  • Skyfire Labs welcomed Adam Sexton as new CMO.

  • Celtel Nigeria announced the appointment of Norman Moyo as CMO. Prior to his new appointment, he was Marketing Director.

  • Outrigger Enterprises Group chose Dan Wacksman for the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Integrated Marketing.

  • Multimedia Games Inc. announced the appointment of Ginny Shanks as CMO.

  • MSG Entertainment announced that Liana Farnham has been named VP, Concert Marketing.

  • NBCU expanded its new Women@NBCU division by adding Michelle Spinale as VP, Enterprise Marketing Solutions.

  • Kenneth Cole Productions Inc. appointed Kristen Dykstra SVP and CMO, effective August 25.

  • Nexius Inc. announced the appointment of John F. Scott as SVP and CMO.

  • Brian Srabian has been named VP of marketing for the Sacramento River Cats baseball team. Previously, Mr. Srabian was director of marketing and entertainment with the San Francisco Giants.

  • Starbucks named Michelle Gass as SVP of Marketing & Global Strategy.

  • Interactive announced that it has hired Meaghan Schaefer as CMO.

  • MySpace named Angela Courtin as SVP Marketing, Entertainment, and Content, Abe Thomas as VP of Online Marketing, and Tish Whitcraft SVP of Customer Care.

  • Susan Koehler, previously in charge of Microsoft’s consumer digital imaging, will become CMO for Identity.net.

  • Bill.com, Inc. announced Jeff Schultz as its new VP of Marketing.

  • David Rich will be joining TurnHere as SVP of Sales and Marketing.

  • Monster named Ted Gilvar Chief Global Marketing Officer.

  • The NBA announced that Chris Granger has been promoted to SVP, Team Marketing and Business Operations.

  • The Houston Astros announced the promotion of Jennifer Randall to VP of marketing.

  • Michael Sprague was named VP of Marketing for Kia Motors America.

  • ADC named Kimberly Hartwell as VP, Global Go-to-Market, a newly created position.

  • Andria Vidler became CMO for Bauer Media.

  • Hertz announced that Mike Senackerib has been named SVP and CMO for The Hertz Corporation.

  • Charlotte Checkers president Jeff Longo resigned Wednesday after five years to become the New Jersey Devils' VP of Marketing and Community Development.

  • Neeraj Sanan became VP of Marketing for STAR News.

July 2008
  • Blockbuster hired restaurant industry veteran Rebecca “Becky” Johnson as its new CMO.

  • The Boston Bruins promoted Jen Compton to VP of Marketing.

  • LG Electronics Inc. announced the appointment of Sara Lee marketing executive Peter Reiner as SVP of Marketing and Strategy for LG Electronics North America.

  • InterfaceFLOR appointed Peter Kubermann as SVP of Marketing.

  • Powerteam International appointed Michael Simpson the new SVP of Sales and Marketing.

  • Omni Hotels announced that Tom Santora joined the organization as its new CMO.

  • Vail Resorts, Inc. announced the appointment of Derek Koenig to the position of SVP and CMO. Koenig joins Vail Resorts from Discovery Communications, LLC.

  • Host Analytics announced the appointment of Gary Damiano as CMO and Vice President of Marketing.

  • The Cheesecake Factory hired Mark Mears as CMO, a new position at the casual restaurant chain.

  • Christian McMahan joined Heineken USA, White Plains, part of Heineken, as CMO.

  • The Green Bay Packers have named Laura Sankey SVP of Marketing and Sales.

  • SiteSpect bolstered its executive team with the hiring of CMO Kim Ann King.

  • Inform Technologies named Josh Kirschner as new CMO.

  • Merkley + Partners announced that Rob Moorman will be joining the firm as CMO on July 1. Moorman held a similar role at Saatchi & Saatchi since December of 2004.

  • Zurich announced that John Parker has joined its North America Commercial business division as CMO.

  • Egenera Inc. announced that it has named Christine Crandell EVP and CMO.
June 2008
  • Michael O’Hara, former General Manager for Marketing and Industry Management for the Communications Sector at Microsoft, has been appointed as new CMO of the GSMA (Global Standard for Mobile Association.)

  • T-Mobile USA announced the appointment of Denny Marie Post, the senior VP-global food and beverage at Starbucks, as the company’s CMO.

  • The Gatorade Company, a division of PepsiCo, announced Sarah Robb O’Hagan as its new CMO. O’Hagan joins PepsiCo after nearly six years at Nike where she has held marketing and general management roles within the U.S.

  • NetMotion Wireless, a provider of mobile productivity and management software, has appointed Pam Cory as VP of marketing.

  • Datacolor, a global leader in digital color management technology, announced that industry expert and former X-Rite Incorporated executive Doris Brown will lead the company’s new branding initiative as VP, Marketing.

  • Roost has appointed Drew Izzo as CMO. Previously, Izzo served in other senior-level marketing and customer-focused roles at Ancestry.com.

  • Coremetrics has appointed Kathi Kaplan as CMO. Before Coremetrics, Kaplan was VP of Global Demand Marketing at Borland Software.

  • Del Monte Foods Co. has named William D. Pearce as SVP and CMO, a newly created role.

  • Barclaycard has appointed its current CMO, Elizabeth Chambers, to a new role as CMO for global retail and commercial banking.

  • Method announced the appointment of Steven Spieczny as CMO. Before Method, Spieczny was SVP of Business Development at Schematic.

  • The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) appointed Stephen C. Horn as the new chief global marketing officer.

  • MSI (Multi-Systems, Inc.) announced Laura Kirby-Meck has joined the company as CMO.

  • Ascentium Corporation appointed Romi Mahajan to the newly created position, CMO.

  • WIN Corporation announced the appointment of Tracy Richardson to the new role of CMO.

  • Dottie Hall has been named CMO for Naverus, Inc. Prior to joining Naverus, Hall served as VP, marketing for Eclipse Aviation.
