New CMO Council Study Finds Personalized Communication Programs Still Under-Utilized and Under-Tested The CMO Council released the findings of its new global survey, "The Power of Personalization," which shows that inadequate customer data is the key obstacle facing top marketing executives in their adoption of personalized communication techniques. Positive Outlook For Marketing Spend Reported by CMO Council The CMO Council released the findings of the 2008 Marketing Outlook survey with an upbeat report on spend levels mostly holding steady or trending upward. However, many marketers say they are frustrated and stymied by organization cultures, senior management mindset, and insufficient budgets. More than 800 senior marketers across all global regions responded to the CMO Council audit, which looked at a wide range of planned investments, organizational changes, process improvements, and performance indicators.

Technology Marketers Challenged to Reorganize Around Customers According to the results of a major research initiative by the CMO Council, most B2B technology companies continue to fall short of meeting customer expectations. Most technology vendors badly overestimate their effectiveness in addressing customer needs, while a majority of customers feel ignored and trapped in vendor relationships that are marred by broken promises. The study is based on surveys and interviews with more than 1,000 leading B2B technology buyers, IT marketing and customer relationship executives and their channel partners.

CMO Council's Highly Regarded "Mastering MPM" Certificate Program Opens Its Doors On Spring '07 Quarter. The CMO Council’s 2007 Mastering MPM On-line Certificate Program commences its Spring Quarter this week on March 5th. Introduced by the CMO Council in September 2006, the inaugural Mastering MPM Certificate Program attracted marketers from North America, EMEA and the AsiaPac regions and from various industries including retail, technology and engineering.
