Carolyne leads the Brand & Marketing Communication strategy for the Safaricom business across the Consumer, Financial Services (MPESA), and Enterprise Business Units. She partners with the commercial and experience teams to ensure consistent and impactful execution of the brand across all touchpoints to drive revenue and profitable growth while enhancing brand equity.

 

Her journey as an astute and experienced strategy & marketing professional began over 18 years ago, and since then has built her passion for fulfilling customer needs and driving commercial value at various blue-chip multinationals in the region. Some of these include East Africa Breweries Limited (Diageo East Africa), Unilever East Africa, Unilever South Africa and Safaricom PLC.

 

Her experience spans across multiple markets in Africa – East Africa, West Africa & South & Southern Africa, driving business growth through development and implementation of Business Strategy, Brand Strategy Development, Brand P&L Management and Communication Strategy. Her passion is in Social marketing & Digital marketing.

 

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) degree from the University of Nairobi and is currently pursuing an MBA in Strategic management at the United States International University. She serves as a Deputy Vice Chair – Unstereotype Alliance, Director at Melchizedek Hospital, Director at Unathi Investments Limited, and Director of KAI Consulting.

 

She is a mother of a 10-year-old young man and is a servant leader who is extremely passionate about driving positive impact by bringing people together, and helping them leverage their strengths to ultimately live their purpose.
