Global Mobile Technology Users Overwhelmed by Device Features; Under-Whelmed by Buying and User Experience
The CMO Council’s specialty group, The Forum to Advance the Mobile Experience (FAME), has partnered with the GSM Association to present a full day forum to focus on the issues, trends, and strategies specific to marketing leaders in the mobile industry. The CMO Forum will be held on Monday, February 12 from 9:00 am – 14:30 pm in conjunction with 3GSM in Barcelona, Spain.
The highlight of the event will be the announcement of top-line findings from the Global Mobile Mindset audit, “Get to Know Those on the Go”. The survey of over 20,000 mobile users across 40 countries was fielded by the CMO Council’s partner, GMI, and was recently closed. This will be the first time any of the findings have been revealed, and what better place to discuss the landscape of the mobile ecosystem than at 3GSM!
Designed to be the most comprehensive look yet at mobile lifestyles and lifecycles, the survey looked to capture market intelligence holding significant potential value in the design, delivery and support of next generation mobile devices, applications and services. The results will provide a true cross-cultural perspective on the Global Mobile Mindset across regional, demographic, psychographic and ethnographic markets, delivering data that that should reveal and identify issues, concerns, drivers, motivators and experiences impacting and influencing mobile user adoption, satisfaction, and comfort and purchase intent.
The release of the results of the audit is just the first step in the overall mission of the Global Mobile Mindset initiative. Future plans include the creation of an online global community that represents the entire spectrum of the mobile ecosystem. We also expect to continue the audit series to create the definitive, yearly assessment of the mobile landscape, and how it shifts and changes as mobility diversifies and develops.
