on Thursday, May 12th the CMO Council will be hosting a gathering of our Africa Advisory Board at the Investec offices in Sandton, South Africa. The board meeting will begin at 3:00pm with a complimentary reception to follow. In addition to reviewing the findings of the CMO Council’s 2011 Marketing Outlook Survey and the State of Marketing Report, conversations will focus on board member transformation intentions and an exploration of what initiatives are underway and delivering value. Discussions will cover the degree to which marketing transformation is being driven by digital innovation and customer empowerment, and how this is requiring greater collaboration between marketing and IT groups. We will also focus on how to extract more business value from sports marketing programs, particularly how to align sponsorships with business objectives, negotiate and structure the best deals, and manage and optimize sponsorship relationships and investments.
