Martech investment has a costly blind spot. Companies spend billions evaluating platforms, comparing features and building increasingly sophisticated technology stacks. But they have far less visibility into a more important question: Will those investments deliver superior business performance?
The Apex Martech Matrix examines real-world technology deployments rather than relying solely on analyst recommendations, vendor promises or stated buying preferences. The research analyzed 988 martech stacks across seven industries, classifying technologies across 49 martech categories and measuring feature sophistication, martech maturity and revenue per employee.
The underlying feature analysis encompasses approximately 1,300 unique features across 15,505 martech solutions. Martech maturity is evaluated using a model based on the Capability Maturity Model, measuring organizational capability from ad hoc execution through optimized processes.
